Tawnyhill Kennels
Our business began in 1984 with one kennel and two dogs. Tony trained gundogs part-time, while Jean worked in administration.
As demand for dog training grew, Tony gradually shifted from farming to full-time dog training. Owners often tried training themselves before seeking his help. Dogs typically stayed 8–10 months, depending on goals.
In 1992, Tony moved to Cuckoo Wood Farmhouse with 8 kennels. Loyal clients followed, and capacity increased to 20 dogs. He met Jean shortly after, and they married in 1996. That year, Tony began writing for Sporting Gun Magazine.
Jean joined full-time in 2000, focusing on puppies, boarding and admin. After years of searching, they finally found Tawnyhill Kennels in 2004 and moved into purpose-built facilities.
Today, the fully licensed kennels include one 12-unit family block, two 18-unit blocks and a 22-kennel block. Two blocks are heated, and there are 4 whelping kennels, a dog kitchen and storage.
